Biography

Alanna Burden is a lyric soprano originally from Lumberton, New Jersey, now residing in Pittsburgh, PA. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in vocal performance at Carnegie Mellon University. She studies with renowned soprano Maria Spacagna, and coaches with vocal coach Sara Chiesa.

 

A recent graduate of West Virginia University with her bachelor's degree in vocal performance, she has appeared in numerous concerts and productions, most notably in their production of L’enfant et les sortilèges, singing the role of Bergère and The Bat.

 

This past summer, she joined the Miami Classical Music Festival in their production of Rusalka, performing the role of the Foreign Princess. In the previous summer, she performed in their production of the third act of Die Walküre as Grimgerde,  as well as in their production of Dead Man Walking as Sister Lillianne.

 

 Her numerous accolades include the Kefferstan Award for Vocal Excellence in 2025 and an award at the National Association of Teachers Singing competition in 2022. 

 

This summer, she will be making her debut with Festival of International Opera (FIO) Italia performing the title role of Alcina.
